Palmeiras’ investment in its academy has become a pillar of the club’s finances, with homegrown talent bringing in more than R$ 300 million and helping balance the books.

According to Nosso Palestra, the Convocados 2026 report shows that without income from academy player sales, annual revenue would drop from about R$ 1 billion to just over R$ 700 million, underlining the strategy’s weight.

That position stems from a 2015 overhaul led by João Paulo Sampaio, with about R$ 260 million directed into infrastructure, methodology and talent recruitment.

Early returns were clear. Gabriel Jesus paved the way for a group including Endrick, Estevão and Vitor Reis, who delivered on the pitch and generated significant international transfer fees. In 2025 the club made about R$ 599 million from deals involving academy graduates.

Palmeiras also retains economic stakes in players after exits, securing future income. A recent example was Jhon Jhon’s move to Zenit, which brought in about R$ 23 million.

With the next window approaching, there is an expectation of fresh receipts. Midfielder Allan is attracting interest from European clubs and is valued at around €40 million, while Eduardo Conceição and Heittor are emerging as potential assets.

Claudio Fiorito of P&P Sport Management, who represents Vitor Reis, views the club’s model as a market reference, a competitive edge that creates recurring revenue, reduces reliance on external funds and sustains high performance.
