Palmeiras and Adidas have held conversations over a potential future return to the club, though any switch is only viewed as feasible from 2028, according to Nosso Palestra.
Palmeiras renewed their kit supply deal with Puma in 2024, extending it to the end of 2028. Puma have outfitted the Verdão since 2019, while Adidas were partners from 2006 to 2018.
During the 2024 negotiations, Adidas came close to a comeback but were edged out by their rival. The former supplier was left frustrated and is keen to secure a club in the state, a slot vacant since São Paulo’s departure in 2023.
For talks to move beyond sounding out, an early termination with Puma would be required, with about two and a half years still on the current deal. That is considered difficult given president Leila Pereira’s stance of not breaking active contracts.
A potential reunion with Adidas is therefore seen as more realistic from 2028, when Palmeiras will have a new president.
Earlier in 2024, some Palmeiras staff favoured Adidas, but an agreement fell away after the brand sought to amend terms because of its partnership with Flamengo.
Palmeiras denies it is holding talks with other companies and maintains it has a contract with Puma until December 2028, expressing strong satisfaction with the partnership. The relationship since 2019 has brought notable results on and off the pitch, and next season’s home and away kits are approved and in production. Adidas has not commented.
