Palmeiras start the Campeonato Paulista knockout phase on Saturday chasing their first trophy of the year, but with a markedly reshaped squad.
According to Nosso Palestra, only five of the 16 players used in the 2025 quarter-final, a 3-0 win over São Bernardo, remain available.
Those still at the club from that night are defenders Murilo and Bruno Fuchs, midfielder Emiliano Martínez, and forwards Felipe Anderson and Flaco López. Estêvão, now at Chelsea, and Flaco scored.
From the 2024 state champions, only Marcelo Lomba, Gustavo Gómez, Murilo, Piquerez and Flaco López remain at the club.
The current group includes 11 who played in 2025 but were not in the 2024 winners and still seek a first club title, among them Allan, Bruno Fuchs, Emiliano Martínez, Felipe Anderson and Vitor Roque. Paulinho did not feature in that edition due to injury.
Ten more are making their Paulista debuts, including Andreas Pereira, Carlos Miguel, Jefté, Jhon Arias, Marlon Freitas and Ramón Sosa.
The overhaul began in 2025 with exits for Dudu, Zé Rafael, Marcos Rocha, Mayke and Rony, and continued into this season with Weverton and Raphael Veiga leaving. The club spent heavily in the last window, adding 12 players for the project’s future.
For 2026, Marlon Freitas and Jhon Arias also arrived. Arias could debut at 20:30 Brasília time against Capivariano as Palmeiras try to blend youth and experience after finishing runners-up in the Paulista, Brasileiro and Libertadores last season.
