Palmeiras can go top before Flamengo as Grêmio await | OneFootball

Palmeiras turn back to the Brasileirão after eliminating LDU on penalties and could go top when they visit Grêmio.

The match arrives less than four days after the high-altitude trip to Quito, where Palmeiras lost 3-2 in normal time before advancing on penalties. Travel, altitude and the early start could see assistant João Martins adjust the line-up.

Head coach Abel Ferreira serves a STJD suspension. Murilo is banned after a third yellow card, while Gustavo Gómez returns after missing the LDU tie through suspension.

Grêmio begin the round on 28 points near the relegation zone and, after a 3-2 defeat to Botafogo, Renato Portaluppi debuts in his latest spell. The game is live on Premiere. Palmeiras’ next fixture is on 8 October against Bahia at Nubank Parque.
