Palmeiras have arrived in Quito to face LDU in the Libertadores. They close Brazil’s transfer window with four departures and two arrivals, and no replacement for Allan after his move to Manchester City.

According to Globo.com, the exits were Allan, goalkeeper Kaique to Sporting, and forwards Luighi and Riquelme Fillipi to New York City and Inter Miami, with the latter awaiting travel clearance.

Incomings saw centre-back Barboza added to meet a tactical need identified by Abel Ferreira, and goalkeeper Bruno Bertinato arrive from Portuguesa on a deal until year-end to cover Kaique. Under-20 midfielder Kauan Lima has joined first-team work, though he still features for the academy.

Up front there was no signing, shaped by the financial plan. Palmeiras budgeted R$ 399 million in sales in 2026, with Allan’s exit worth around R$ 240 million, and staff felt a like-for-like buy would require similar outlay, so the club will turn in-house.

Assistant João Martins said squad size for three competitions is not his call, and underlined Palmeiras’ insistence on financial rigour and paying on time. He highlighted the academy focus, pointing to Allan’s pathway and asking for patience with Pacheco, Belé, Benedetti and Larson. He added the club would rather avoid relying on prize money and does not aim to carry 29 or 30 options.
