Felipe Anderson sustained a low-grade injury in his left hamstring and continued treatment inside the club’s centre of excellence, while Sosa suffered a non-surgical ligament injury in his left ankle. Both are now sidelined.

Anderson had earlier scored Palmeiras’ equaliser, then at 42 minutes felt his left thigh during a sprint. He received medical attention on the touchline and was taken off on the stretcher cart due to difficulty walking.

Sosa injured his ankle in a challenge, went down in pain and left in tears on the stretcher cart, departing the Arena Crefisa Barueri with his foot immobilised and limping. He needed help to reach the bench and to leave it at the interval.

Sosa has been a regular pick for Paraguay and is among those in contention for the Copa. Palmeiras have set no timeline and see a greater chance of having Sosa available for the tournament, which depends on his day-to-day recovery.

Team-mate and compatriot Gustavo Gómez left the interview area on Saturday looking for the forward.
