Palmeiras confirm return of forward Bia Zaneratto

Bia Zaneratto has rejoined Palmeiras for a fourth spell. According to Globo.com, the 32-year-old forward had been with Kansas City Current in the United States since the start of 2024.
She is the club’s all-time leading scorer in women’s football, with 55 goals in 83 games across her previous three stints, and won two trophies.
In her last stay, she won the Campeonato Paulista and the club’s first Libertadores, and finished runner-up in the Brasileiro. She was top scorer in both competitions.
Zaneratto said she arrives with high expectations, believes the squad can achieve big things, and emphasised taking each game as it comes while staying grounded. She added the team will bring full energy to chase every title.
A Brazil international nicknamed Imperatriz, she played at the 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023 World Cups, and the 2016 and 2020 Olympics. She won the Copa América in 2018 and 2022, and is the Palmeiras player with the most goals and appearances for Brazil, with 12 in 36 caps. She was the first Palmeiras player to score at the Olympics and the Copa América.
After Duda Santos, Ana Guimarães, Layssa Santos, Duda Basílio and Glaucia, Zaneratto is the sixth signing for the season. The additions are part of plans to strengthen the squad and keep the team competitive in 2026.
