Palmeiras were not punished over a pitch invasion by a supporter in a Hulk costume during last Saturday’s derby with Santos in the Brasileirão.
According to Globo.com, the 5ª Comissão Disciplinar of the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva accepted the Procuradoria’s request to archive the case against the club.
The club had initially been charged under Article 213, section 2, of the CBJD for invasion of the pitch, an offence carrying a fine of R$ 100 to R$ 100,000.
On Friday, sub procurador-geral Ronald Siqueira withdrew the complaint during the hearing after the supporter responsible was identified.
Palmeiras’ defence highlighted that identification in material filed with the STJD and said video evidence showed only one person entered the pitch.
At first, panel president Paulo Ceo declared an acquittal in the session, then, after a query from lawyer João Pedro Vieira Moraes Martins, corrected it to record the Procuradoria’s archiving request being upheld.
