Three leaders of Palmeiras’ organised supporters group Mancha Alvi-Verde have been convicted over the invasion of the club’s training ground on the first of August 2024.
According to Nosso Palestra, Judge Dr. Sérgio Ricardo Duarte delivered the verdict on Tuesday, finding Jorge Luis Sampaio dos Santos, Felipe Mattos dos Santos and Thiago Amorim de Melo guilty.
The incident followed a 2-0 defeat to Flamengo in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil round of 16, after which around 20 to 30 people entered the facility.
The judge said evidence from the police report, courtroom testimony and video footage consistently showed the group was led by the three defendants.
Felipe Mattos dos Santos received seven months’ detention in an open regime and 11 day-fine units at the minimum legal rate, the custodial term replaced by community service to be set by the execution court.
Jorge Luis Sampaio dos Santos was handed eight months in a semi-open regime and 12 day-fine units at the minimum legal rate, also replaced by community service. Thiago Amorim de Melo was sentenced to seven months in an open regime and 11 day-fine units at the minimum legal rate, likewise converted to community service.
All three were granted the right to appeal while at liberty.
