Palmeiras keep Flaco López, plan fringe exits to meet sales target | OneFootball

Palmeiras turned down a €20 million Spartak Moscow bid for Flaco López and plan to keep their core this window, according to Globo.com.

The club target R$ 400 million in 2026 player sales and had R$ 78 million booked by May. To raise funds, exits will focus on fringe players and income from retained rights.

López returned from the World Cup with Argentina with added value, yet the board do not plan to sell. Atlético de Madrid's pre-tournament enquiries stalled, and Spartak's offer, about R$ 116.6 million, was refused.

For players such as midfielder Mauricio, only a financially significant proposal would persuade the hierarchy, and no cornerstone has drawn an irresistible bid.

In May, about R$ seven million came from Pedro Lima's move from AVS to Sporting Lisboa. With the international window open, defender Naves was sold to Necaxa for three million dollars, and Palmeiras kept 25%.

Striker Luighi joined New York City on loan for 300 thousand dollars, with an option to buy at six million dollars and 20% retained. Together, those two deals bring in roughly R$ 16.8 million now.

Further moves could include academy centre-back Benedetti after Barboza's arrival. During the World Cup pause, Koné, Felipe Teresa, Miguel Bilong and 16-year-old Eduardo Conceição trained with the first team. Eduardo is among the leading candidates to become a major sale while he develops under Abel Ferreira.
