Palmeiras academy goalkeeper Kaique, 22, is impressing in his second season in Portugal. According to Nosso Palestra, major Portuguese clubs are tracking him and he is not expected to return to Palmeiras.
He spent 2024-2025 with Farense and now represents Nacional on Madeira.
Kaique views this period as consolidation and development, and believes returning to Brazil now could interrupt that process. With Carlos Miguel and Marcelo Lomba in the squad, he prefers to remain in Europe.
In December he saved two penalties in one match against Tondela, a standout moment in the league. He feels his adaptation has been quicker this season without the early injury that sidelined him for three months last term, and believes he is better prepared to help Nacional meet their objectives.
Before joining Nacional he renewed his Palmeiras contract until 2030. He made 77 appearances and won eight titles with the club, and also lifted the South American Under-20 crown with Brazil.
