Palmeiras are looking to extend left-back Arthur’s contract after his breakout 2026 season.

According to Nosso Palestra, the club have opened initial formal talks with Arthur and his representatives to discuss a renewal with an improved salary, which both sides view as a natural step given his development.

Arthur signed an extension in August 2025, tying him to the club until the end of 2029. The board now intend to raise the academy graduate’s wages to the level used for players promoted to the first team.

Recent interest from Europe has also spurred Palmeiras to act. Fiorentina offered about €13 million and Olympiacos signalled around €10 million, with both approaches promptly rejected.

Arthur has played 29 times in 2026 under Abel Ferreira, establishing himself as an important option, particularly after injuries to Piquerez and Jefté.
