Palmeiras will be without Marlon Freitas and Barboza for the Choque-Rei against São Paulo after disciplinary incidents in the draw with Botafogo in Rio de Janeiro.
According to Globo.com, Freitas collected his third Brasileirão yellow and must serve an automatic suspension, while Barboza was dismissed in stoppage time on Sunday.
Four other players, Flaco López, Mauricio, Murilo and Pacheco, went into the match on two bookings. Only Freitas will miss Saturday’s derby, set for 18h30 at Nubank Parque, part of the Brasileirão’s 27th round.
Freitas was booked for halting Junior Santos with a foul in midfield in the 31st minute of the second half. He held the squad’s longest active run with 19 consecutive appearances.
Barboza had already been cautioned in the first half, then saw red at 48 minutes for leaving his arm in Kadir’s face during a midfield challenge.
Before facing São Paulo, Palmeiras host LDU of Ecuador on Wednesday at 19h at Nubank Parque in the first leg of the Conmebol Libertadores quarter-finals.
