Palmeiras set Arena Barueri record with sixth straight win after 5-1 over Vitória

Palmeiras thrashed Vitória 5-1 at Arena Barueri in the second round of the Brasileirão, setting a new stadium record of six consecutive wins.
Abel Ferreira's side surpassed the previous best run at the venue, five straight victories recorded between 2012 and 2022.
The six-match sequence comprises 2-0 against Corinthians and 1-0 against São Paulo in 2025, then 1-0 against Santos, 1-0 against Mirassol, 3-1 against São Paulo and 5-1 against Vitória in 2026.
Palmeiras are unbeaten in 18 home games, 14 wins and four draws since August 2025, a level last reached between July 2022 and June 2023 when they went 33 without defeat at home, 26 wins and seven draws.
In the league, they are 15 home matches unbeaten in the Brasileirão, 11 wins and four draws since returning from the Fifa Club World Cup in July last year.
Next up is Corinthians on Sunday at 20:30 Brasília time in the Campeonato Paulista at Neo Química Arena. They resume their league campaign on Thursday at 21:30 Brasília time against Internacional at Beira-Rio.
