With 10 days until their official return, Palmeiras enter the final phase of their 2026 interseason with Abel Ferreira close to a full squad, sharpening focus on the Brasileiro restart.
According to Nosso Palestra, the club used the World Cup pause for a segmented plan that balanced physical recovery, the staggered return of call ups and a series of training games.
In recent weeks they faced Mauaense, Primavera and Juventus, and staged an internal match between the senior group and the Crias da Academia. The work built rhythm, tested shapes and increased minutes for players short of action in the first half of the year.
Internationals came back in stages as their nations exited the World Cup, reporting to the Academia de Futebol for individual recovery before rejoining full training.
Only striker Flaco López remains away. The Argentina forward, No 42, is into the semi finals and is the club’s sole representative still at the tournament.
The medical and performance staff advanced rehabilitation for those in treatment, expanding Ferreira’s options for the remainder of the season.
With the group largely reunited, Palmeiras are fine tuning technical, tactical and physical details before the Campeonato Brasileiro resumes. They led the league before the pause and seek to maintain that level while targeting the decisive stages of the Copa do Brasil and the Libertadores.
