Palmeiras top after round three as Santos drop to 19th

Diario Do Peixe reports that the third round of the Brasileirão 2026 finished on Thursday night. Palmeiras lead the table after beating Internacional 3-1, while Santos slipped to 19th following a 2-1 loss to Athletico-PR at the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba.
Palmeiras are on seven points, with São Paulo, Fluminense and Bahia also on seven after three games.
In the relegation places are Internacional in 17th, Vasco in 18th and Cruzeiro bottom, all on one point. Vasco are Santos’ next opponents.
The round produced 32 goals, an average of 3.2 per game. Home sides won four times, away teams won three, with three draws.
