Palmeiras trained at Allianz Parque on Tuesday morning, taking their first run-out on the arena’s new pitch after lifting the Campeonato Paulista on Sunday. Flaco López welcomed the return to their home ground.
According to Nosso Palestra, the stadium will stage the side’s next home game on Sunday against Mirassol in the Brasileiro, with a trip to Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday first.
The most fatigued starters stayed at the club’s Football Academy for recovery work. Players with better metrics did light on-grass drills, then completed further physical recovery, while the remainder trained under Abel Ferreira’s staff.
López, named best forward and player of this year’s Paulistão, said returning to Allianz Parque felt special and that the revamped surface is excellent. He noted the colour closely matches natural grass and believes it should aid their games.
He has 195 appearances and 64 goals for the club, with 15 games and seven goals this season. Signed in 2022, his honours include Paulista titles in 2023, 2024 and 2026, Brasileiros in 2022 and 2023, and the 2023 Supercopa do Brasil.
López added that his form gives him confidence to keep performing at a high level, and he praised the group’s latest triumph after last year’s near-misses. Palmeiras lead the Brasileiro on 10 points from three wins and one draw, and the striker stressed the need to maintain a competitive edge in the coming matches.
