Palmeiras have not yet officially reconvened, but Bruno Fuchs, Felipe Anderson and Lucas Evangelista began work at the Academia de Futebol on Monday.
According to Globo.com, last week the club released a video noting that Paulinho and Benedetti had already returned to activities, despite the squad’s reporting date being next Wednesday. Vitor Roque, still in recovery, had no holiday period.
The early returns are focused on building fitness. Paulinho and Benedetti have both recently been through injury rehabilitation.
Bruno Fuchs and Felipe Anderson also had physical problems in May, but are now recovered. Lucas Evangelista suffered a serious injury last season and came back in February, with no issues since.
Vitor Roque is recovering from ankle surgery and is working to be 100% for the calendar’s resumption after the World Cup. Jefté underwent meniscus surgery and is only expected back at the end of the year.
Palmeiras will not have their World Cup call-ups when they reconvene, namely Emiliano Martínez, Flaco López, Gustavo Gómez, Jhon Arias, Mauricio, Piquerez and Sosa. Giay is with Argentina’s delegation in the United States.
