Palmeiras use Memphis song to taunt Corinthians after Libertadores progress | OneFootball

Palmeiras have used a track by Memphis Depay to goad Corinthians and the Dutchman, a day after reaching the Conmebol Libertadores semi-finals and seeing their rivals knocked out.

According to Globo.com, a club post on social media spliced footage of the penalties taken by Memphis Depay and Vitor Roque in Wednesday’s matches.

The Corinthians player missed from the spot in stoppage time of the 1-0 defeat to Estudiantes in Itaquera. The Palmeiras player converted twice against LDU in Ecuador, in a match that ended with Palmeiras advancing.

The post used lyrics from Don’t Panic. The lines say there is no need to panic once you see everything as a game, adding there is no need to explain why we are not the same.

The song has previously stirred controversy. Its video includes digs at Corinthians and shows an image of Parque São Jorge on fire.
