Palmeiras vice-president Paulo Buosi would not confirm a return to Allianz Parque should the team reach the Paulista final, with the semi-final set for Barueri. According to Globo.com, he said the pitch replacement is ongoing and he cannot yet give a timeline.

The surface, which will remain synthetic, began being replaced at the end of 2025. There is an expectation it could be ready in early March, when the Paulistão finals take place.

To reach the decider, Palmeiras must beat São Paulo on Sunday at 20:30 Brasília time at Arena Crefisa Barueri. The stadium, run by a company of president Leila Pereira, has been the club’s base while Allianz Parque is unavailable.

Buosi said the club will only discuss a final if they get there and urged fans to back the team in Barueri.

He added that Paulinho is in the final stage of a long rehabilitation after right-leg surgery in July, progressing well but with no return date. The No 10 has increased ball work on the pitch, still apart from the squad.

Palmeiras plan a cautious comeback so he no longer feels the pain that has troubled him since Atlético-MG. They hope to start his transition to full, unrestricted training by early March.
