Chelsea have a golden duo on their hands in the form of Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke.

They proved that on Sunday afternoon against Wolves as they combined for an achievement which had been witnessed just four times previously in Premier League history.

That came via Madueke netting a hat-trick but doing so having been set up for each of his goals by a Palmer pass.

It meant Palmer joined Mike Newell (for Alan Shearer), Stan Collymore (for Robbie Fowler), Thierry Henry (for Freddie Ljungberg) and Harry Kane (for Heung-min Son) as the only players to provide a trio of assists for the same player in the Premier League era.

The feat hadn’t been seen since Kane in 2020 and the previous occasion came 17 years previously.
