Panathinaikos aren’t wasting any time in its search for a new striker. The club are on the verge of losing Fotis Ioannidis (25) and have their eye on a Ligue 1 attacker to replace him.

On the radar of the big Greek club is Mostafa Mohamed (27), who is in his fourth season at FC Nantes. The Egyptian international is tempted to leave for Greece, according to L’Équipe. Two of his former teammates at La Maison Jaune, Pedro Chirivella (28) and Alban Lafont (26), are currently playing there.

The Africa Cup of Nations runner-up with Egypt in 2023 has netted a combined 21 times in three Ligue 1 campaigns with Nantes. He’s under contract with the French side until 2027, and it is unlikely they will let him leave for anything less than €10m.

After two matches in the new season, Nantes are one of four sides that have yet to earn a point in the French top-flight, suffering a pair of 1-0 defeats to RC Strasbourg Alsace and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively.
