Corinthians’ Deliberative Council (CD) held a meeting on the night of last Wednesday (29) to discuss the reform of the club’s bylaws. However, the meeting was interrupted after the main draft text of the preliminary proposal was rejected, in addition to the initial review of some of the highlighted provisions. Given the situation, the acting president of the body, Leonardo Pantaleão, detailed how the process will move forward from now on.
According to the official, the main deadlock was not directly related to the content of the proposal, but rather to the procedure adopted to take it to the General Assembly of members.

“I will speak about that at the appropriate time, obviously; we will follow the same guideline. There was no discussion about the merits, but rather about the fact that the Assembly had been called without the Council’s internal vote,” he said.
Pantaleão explained that resubmitting the matter to the Council was intended to address formal issues before the process continued, emphasizing that the format of the Assembly remains unchanged despite the discussions.
“That is exactly what I submitted to the Council again: the need to eliminate this pending issue before moving on to the vote. As for the format of the Assembly, it remains exactly the same as what had already been called and which was the subject of the action to eliminate the judicial issue,” he added.
Even with the rejection of the main draft text, the Council moved forward with voting on specific points. Among them was the voting right of members of the Fiel Torcedor program, with the majority decision allowing participation as early as the 2026 elections. Even so, the issue sparked debate over which proposals should be sent to the Assembly.
“To avoid difficulties in understanding and information noise, we decided that, at the end of the voting, we will clarify exactly what the next steps are. In my view, it seems hardly reasonable to present something to the Assembly while ignoring what was decided by the Deliberative Council; what should be forwarded is precisely what was decided by the Council,” he pointed out.
With discussions set to continue in the coming days, the official stressed that the focus is now on reviewing the highlighted points, since the main text was not approved.
“However, an additional issue arises: the main text of the bylaw reform has already been rejected, and now we are voting on the highlighted points — as happened with the Fiel Torcedor queue issue. We will continue the voting next week to conclude these points,” he explained.
After these items are defined, technical work will be needed to adapt the changes to the club’s current bylaws, in compliance with legal requirements.
“Once voted on, these highlighted points will need to be inserted into or adapted to the text. Therefore, a new review by the Bylaw Reform Committee may be necessary to integrate them into the current bylaws, ensuring the proper adjustments to the legal requirements that the club, without any doubt, needs to comply with,” he said.
Pantaleão also addressed the process of shaping decisions within the Council, reinforcing the importance of dialogue and ruling out individual impositions.
“It was an initial suggestion that had been made. In fact, when Romeu Tuma Jr. raised that issue, I made it clear that it was an idea that came up at that moment. We need to stop this culture at Corinthians that some people are the owners of the truth. From the moment there is a presentation, there is no imposition,” he began.
“As long as I am in the presidency, I will not impose anything; that is not my profile. My style is to listen to the council members, seek a harmonious situation, and present what is decided by the majority. The isolated will of one person or another will not prevail,” he concluded.
With the main draft text rejected, one of the alternatives discussed is incorporating the approved points directly into the club’s current bylaws.
“We need to understand the following: from the moment the Council rejected the new main draft text, we have nowhere to insert the highlighted points that were voted on. The only remaining alternative is to integrate them into the current bylaws,” he said.
“We could ignore the Deliberative Council’s decision and take everything directly to the General Assembly, but, I repeat, that does not seem reasonable to me. Given this scenario, what we must do is analyze what exists today, add the highlighted points that are being approved, and necessarily adapt it to the General Sports Law, since the current text is completely outdated,” he added.
The official also commented on the presence of fans during the meeting and stressed the importance of participation, as long as it is done respectfully.
“The participation of the fans is always important. So much so that I authorized representatives from each of the organized supporter groups to be present today. What cannot happen is any kind of confrontation over these issues. Again: disagreements may exist, but they must be expressed respectfully. Once control is established, the supporter groups will continue to follow the sessions, but with the commitment to maintain cordiality. This is essential so that we can proceed safely and smoothly; that is the main point,” he stated.
Finally, Pantaleão emphasized that, despite the obstacles, the process will continue without major changes to the timetable and reiterated that the Council’s decision must be respected.
“In my personal understanding, what was decided by the Council must be followed. From the moment the Council did not approve that main draft text, I believe it cannot even be taken to the Assembly. Now, we will have to discuss the highlighted points, and the Committee will need to reorganize and resize the project, inserting these approved points into the bylaws we have today — with the reforms, I repeat, that current legislation requires,” he concluded.
The continuation of the vote on the highlighted points is scheduled for next Monday (4). After this stage, the Council may call the General Assembly, which will be responsible for the final decision on the changes to Corinthians’ bylaws.
