Kicker reports that PAOK are causing a delay in the transfer of attacking midfielder Giannis Konstantelias to VfB Stuttgart.
Konstantelias has long been in agreement with Stuttgart over a move to Germany, but any progress on a deal is being hindered by the Greek side.
PAOK have already rejected an offer for Stuttgart that is worth around a total of €18m. The Thessaloniki side wants more money as they look to not only refresh their squad but also fund a new stadium. However, the fans of PAOK are also unhappy with the constant selling of their top prospects.
Benfica has been reported as also interested in the 22-year-old, which PAOK could use to drive up the price.
Another reason for the delay is that PAOK are using the same reasoning for why Konstantinos Koulierakis did not move to Wolfsburg until later in August last summer. The Greek side will likely want to keep Konstantelias for their upcoming Europa League qualifier, with the 22-year-old contributing to them potentially reaching Europe’s secondary competition.
