On Wednesday Corinthians beat Taubaté at the Fazendinha in the seventh and final round of the first phase of the Campeonato Paulista Feminino, a win that marked Paola Garcia’s first start in over four months.

According to Meu Timao, it was her first start since 20 April. On that date Corinthians beat Juventude 1-0 in the seventh round of the Brasileiro Feminino at Parque Esportivo Montanha do Vinhedos.

Since then the number 20 featured off the bench in four matches. Those came in a 2-0 win away to Grêmio in the Brasileiro, a 2-1 defeat to rivals São Paulo at the Fazendinha in the Paulista, a 6-0 win over Red Bull Bragantino in Rio Claro, also in the Paulista, and a 4-1 victory against Mirassol at Estádio Municipal Manoel Francisco Ferreira in the Paulista.

Her removal from the XI followed her longest run of starts since arriving in January. She began three straight games, the 2-1 loss to Kansas City Current and an 8-0 rout of América do México in the Teal Rising Cup, then the Juventude match.

Garcia joined Corinthians at the start of 2026 after standing out in the previous year’s Libertadores with Deportivo Cali. She led several metrics and was the team’s best player as the Colombians finished runners-up to the Brabas.

For Corinthians she has made 10 appearances, with eight wins and two defeats, and has scored one goal.
