Paola Garcia is targeting a swift adaptation at Corinthians, putting Portuguese lessons at the heart of her push to help the team compete for honours.
According to Meu Timao, the Colombian midfielder has joined after impressing at Deportivo Cali and is embarking on her first move abroad. She will work alongside four fellow foreigners, with new arrivals Agustina Barros and Belén Aquino joining Dayana Rodríguez and compatriot Gisela Robledo.
She explained that integrating with the group comes first, and that understanding instructions in Portuguese will help her communicate with team-mates. Earning a place in the side will follow, with an emphasis on listening and giving everything in midfield.
Despite the language barrier, Garcia is confident in the squad's strength for the Copa das Campeãs and a renewed domestic push in 2026. Corinthians won the Brasileirão and the Libertadores last season, but finished runners-up in the Supercopa do Brasil to São Paulo and in the Paulista to Palmeiras.
The group remain in Brazil until the 20th, then fly to London for the final build-up. They face Gotham FC in the semi-final on the 28th at 9.30 Brasília time, at the Gtech Community Stadium.
