Paolo Yrizar is aware of the greatness of Chivas in Mexican football, which is why he considers this season the most important of his career.
After his dazzling start with the Tapatío squad, many supporters have called for the January signing to play a significant role with the Chivas first-team.
The first-team is Yrizar’s main goal and he’s already been called up once, against Querétaro, though he didn’t get a chance to feature.
“Chivas is Chivas, we know what moves the needle. The fans they have… they are the team that have the most fans in all of Mexico.
“So I’m accepting this in another way: This is the most important challenge of my career.
“I have had to be with Tapatío but I’ve approached this with seriousness and professionalism. I have been training with the first-team and then going down to play.
“I’m stomping hard, enjoying this process, and I have all the desire to do things well.
“My goals are clear. I’ve arrived here at Chivas to have the opportunity to play for the first-team and I have to earn that.
“Tapatío is a good challenge for me to continue playing right now but I come to fight for a position in Liga MX.
“My objective is clear: to be in Liga MX. But I have to go step by step, with patience, but as long as I do things well in Tapatío, the possibilities will be there.”
So far this season, Yrizar has scored three goals and dished out an assist in just six games.
