Bayern Munich midfielder Tiago Dantas cannot feature for the senior squad until 2021 after his official paperwork wasn’t registered in time.
Dantas joined the club on an initial season-long loan from Benfica, with an €7.5m option to buy also included in the deal.
But according to Mais Futebol, the 19-year-old can only be used for Bayern II with his Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and Champions League sheets submitted too late.
He can, however, still participate in first-team training and head coach Hansi Flick is expected to integrate him over the next eight weeks.
Flick was reportedly the driving force behind signing Dantas and pushed his name to the Bayern board ‘on several occasions’.
Bayern return to domestic action against FC Düren in the DFB Pokal on October 15, before travelling to Arminia Bielefeld on October 17.
