Lucas Paquetá was denied by the woodwork as Flamengo went in search of a third goal.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the midfielder’s effort hit the post at the Maracanã on Saturday in the sixth round of the Campeonato Carioca against Sampaio Corrêa-RJ.

Paquetá and Pedro combined in a flowing exchange that opened up the defence.

Paquetá, on his left foot, aimed for the far corner but struck the upright, and the Sampaio Corrêa back line cleared the danger.

The chance meant the scoreboard stayed at 2-1.
