Paquetá takes Flamengo No 11 after Everton Cebolinha’s move to Santos | OneFootball

Lucas Paquetá has switched squad number at Flamengo, taking the No 11 shirt left vacant by Everton Cebolinha’s move to Santos.

According to Globo.com, he had been wearing No 20, chosen as a tribute to Vini Jr.

He previously used No 11 during his first spell at the club, in the academy and the senior side. On his return at the start of this year it was already taken. Knowing he would not renew at the end of his contract, Cebolinha departed in recent days.

Paquetá’s last outing in No 20 came against Independiente del Valle in the Libertadores quarter-finals, when he came on in the second half. So far he has 33 appearances and 10 goals.

The No 11 has notable history at Flamengo, worn by Romário in the 1990s, as well as Sávio, Lico and Zagallo.

His first chance to wear it again is on Sunday against Corinthians at 17:30 Brasília time. The Maracanã match is part of the 27th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, and Flamengo are seeking to maintain the league lead.
