Leandro Paredes confirmed there is the ‘desire’ to leave Roma for Boca Juniors, but ‘it does not depend on just one decision.’

The Argentina international had already been close to this return in January only to see his Giallorossi career revitalised by Claudio Ranieri.

There have been reports he was in intensive talks with Juan Roman Riquelme, but replied “I talk to Roman all the time.”

It would be a special return to his hometown club, as the midfielder started out in the Boca Juniors youth academy and left for Chievo in 2014, spending most of his career in Italy.

There were also spells at Zenit St Petersburg and Paris Saint-Germain before returning to Juventus in 2022 and then Roma in 2023.

Paredes remains a fan of Boca Juniors and said that while on vacation he will be watching their games in the 2025 Club World Cup.
