(A score of 6 is around average)

Tom Heaton 6 – Well and truly beaten for PSG’s opener. Saved a Khvicha Kvaratskhelia shot. Got taken off in the second half with an apparent injury.

Noussair Mazraoui 7 – Very good. Resolute in defence and proactive in advancing forward. One particular run saw him almost penetrate the box before he was fouled, resulting in a free-kick in a dangerous area.

Harry Maguire 8 – Another shrewd performance. He made it look effortless and played a handful of excellent balls over the top to get United going forward. Produced a real highlight when he spun past Kvaratskhelia with a beautiful pirouette.

Ayden Heaven 5 – A largely functional display, albeit with some lapses, most notably for PSG’s goal and an instance of sloppy possession that resulted in an avoidable booking.

Luke Shaw 6 – Decent. Did his job.

Andrey Santos 7.5 – He was outstanding once again. Since joining from Chelsea, he has been remarkably consistent. Neat and composed in possession, boundless in his work rate, and capped it all with a brilliant last-ditch tackle to deny Mbaye what seemed a certain goal.

Mason Mount 5 – Substituted after just 19 mins with an injury. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.

Shea Lacey 6 – He provided an early delivery into a dangerous area for Bryan Mbeumo, who connected with his head but failed to find the target. He then spurned a clear opportunity in the second half, with the goal at his mercy, before striking the side netting.

Amad 8 – Didn’t get on the score sheet but he was perhaps United’s most dangerous player. A constant thorn in the backside of the PSG defence. A sublime assist for Mbeumo to draw the Red Devils level. Electric!

Patrick Dorgu 5 – His attacking output on the left was limited but he provided useful defensive cover.

Bryan Mbeumo 8.5 – Excellent finish to restore parity. Also fired two dangerous free-kicks that forced Matvéi Safónov into saves.

Substututes

Tyler Fletcher 6 – He kept it simple and effective, ensuring the midfield continued to tick over.

Leny Yoro 6 – An improvement on Heaven. Played a key role as United shut out the reigning Ligue 1 champions in the second half.

Diogo Dalot 6 – Picked up where Mazraoui left off.

Dermot Mee 6 – Didn’t have much to do. Good on the ball.

Joshua Zirkzee 6 – Lively when he came on.

Bruno Fernandes 6.5 – He announced himself early with a pinpoint long pass to Zirkzee, who was subsequently fouled by Safónov. He then found himself in a goalscoring position after Tielemans threaded him through, but his finishing was below par.

Youri Tielemans 6.5 – Classy pass to Fernandes that should have resulted in a goal. A very positive debut.

Harry Amass 5 – Same as Fletcher.
