Paris Saint-Germain hold off 10-man Monaco to reach last 16 | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain drew at home to 10-man AS Monaco in the all-Ligue 1 clash but progressed after winning 5-4 on aggregate.

Luis Enrique's team won 3-2 in Monaco last time after having gone two goals down early on and they went behind first again in the second leg.

Monaco made it 3-3 on aggregate just before half-time after Caio Henrique collected a cross from the right and put the ball back into the box with Mamadou Coulibaly teeing up Maghnes Akliouche to finish past Matvey Safonov.

Any momentum Monaco got from that goal was dispelled with just under an hour gone when Coulibaly was given a second yellow card for a late challenge on Achraf Hakimi.

From the resulting, PSG scored. The Parisians worked the ball down the right with Désiré Doué putting in for Marquinhos to finish from a yard out.

It was 2-1 and 5-3 on aggregate six minutes later – a goal that effectively ended the tie. Philipp Kohn did well to palm out a long-range effort after a short-corner routine with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia pouncing to score.

The visitors did pull one back late on when substitute Jordan Teze slammed home from close range but ultimately the holders were worthy winners.
