This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan host Feyenoord in the Champions League at the San Siro this evening.

The Nerazzurri have a 2-0 lead to protect from the first leg. However, that hardly means that Feyenoord will have lost hope.

The Rotterdam-based side have nothing to lose as they seek out an improbable comeback.

And Feyenoord bring with them formidable fan support that will be behind them.

Feyenoord have already made one trip to Milan. They were at the San Siro last month for the second leg of their round of sixteen playoff against AC Milan.

The Dutch side saw out a 1-1 draw in that match to book their place in the knockout stages.

That will have given Feyenoord fans hope. And it has also aroused their passion.

According to the Gazzetta, around 4600 supporters of the Dutch giants have made the trip to Milan for today’s match.

And that has inspired a mixed response from local businesses.

According to the Gazzetta, some local bed and breakfasts have refused to allow travelling Feyenoord fans to stay overnight.

That came after some unsavoury behaviour and property destruction by fans of the Rotterdam club during the match against Milan last month.

However, some local nightlife establishments have certainly welcomed the influx of Feyenoord fans.

That is because, as the Gazzetta note, there has been no shortage of beer consumption by the travelling supporters.

Not all of the Feyenoord fans will be in the San Siro for this evening’s match. But they will make the trek to the stadium on foot ahead of this evening’s match.

The beer-fuelled supporters will aim to do their bit to cancel out the raucous home atmosphere favouring Inter, and make the Feyenoord players feel a bit of their own support,
