Pathé Ciss refuses to train at Rayo as he pushes for exit | OneFootball

Pathé Ciss has refused to train with Rayo Vallecano as he seeks a move, Marca reports. The Senegal midfielder did not join Monday's session amid mounting unrest at the club.

Ciss wants the board to consider summer offers and believes his cycle in Vallecas is over. The club, led by Raúl Martín Presa, is not entertaining bids and is not planning to let him leave.

The 32-year-old is under contract until June 2027 with a €10 million release clause. He has started both competitive matches under Beñat San José this season and can play in defence or as a holding midfielder. Rayo insist he is part of their plans, but the player appears set on forcing an exit.

EFE says his camp has received significant proposals from Türkiye and Saudi Arabia. Ciss is described as very unhappy with president Martín Presa, whom he blames for blocking his sporting progress at what could be his last major deal.

This is not his first attempt to leave. On 31 January 2023 he had a verbal agreement with Olympique Lyon, who were ready to pay a little over €5 million, but Presa refused to negotiate.

Ciss joined Rayo in 2021 from Fuenlabrada, has 34 Senegal caps, and has made 181 appearances with 11 goals for the club.
