The French coach previously led Guinea from 2004 to 2006 and DR Congo from 2008 to 2010.

He was Mauritania boss between 2012 and 2014, then coached Gabon from 2019 to 2023.

At 71, he now takes charge of another African national team.

Nibombé was dismissed at the end of 2025 after Togo failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup.
