Patrick Bamford close to joining Getafe

Former Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford is close to joining Spanish side Getafe according to reports.

Journalist Matteo Moretti is reporting that a deal between Bamford and Getafe is close to completion with the player set to fly to Madrid to complete the transfer.

Bamford has been out of contract since being let go back Leeds United last month and had been linked with a surprise move to Chris Wilder's Sheffield United by local media earlier today.

However, it now seems that Bamford will choose Getafe instead after having seven seasons with Leeds in which he played 204 games, scoring 60 goals.

Getafe, infamous for their 'disruptive' brand of football, are currently seventh in the league with three wins and two defeats in their opening five fixtures.
