Patrick Dorgu may be a surprise inclusion in Manchester United’s matchday squad for the clash with Brentford on Monday night.
There has been plenty of speculation about when Dorgu would return from injury.
The Danish international has been out with a hamstring injury since his heroics against Arsenal on 25th January.
Honestly, that injury came at a bad time, just when the full-back was playing his best football for Manchester United.
After head coach Michael Carrick made some tactical tweaks to try and salvage United’s season, Dorgu was used as a left winger and went on to impress in the role.
He was so influential that his performances sparked a whole new debate about whether the Red Devils should stick with him as a winger.
Dorgu has been out for a while now, and speculation has continued to mount about when he will be back.
The Peoples Person recently relayed a report that he could be back next weekend when the Manchester Reds host Liverpool at Old Trafford.
However, even those claims have been refuted:
“Patrick Dorgu will be pushing hard to try and be in the squad to face Liverpool at the start of May,” said Tyrone Marshall of the Manchester Evening News.
“In all likelihood, it might be that the game against Sunderland on May 9 is a more realistic return date for him.”
However, as various reports speculate on when Dorgu might return, his agent, Kings Ogbodo, may have just dropped a telling hint that his client is already available.
On Instagram, Ogbodo shared a video of Dorgu’s wonder strike against Arsenal, captioned “We are back.”
Surely the simplest interpretation of that post is that Dorgu is back. Had he used words like “loading” or “recharging,” it might have suggested his client was merely closing in on a return.
With that “we are back” signal, however, it should come as no surprise if Dorgu makes the squad for the Brentford clash on Monday.
