Serie A side Genoa have announced the departure of manager Patrick Vieira after less than 12 months in charge.

Vieira took charge of the club in November 2024 and guided them to a mid-table finish last term.
However, the start to the current season has fallen well below expectations as they sit rock bottom of the standings with no wins, three draws and six defeats from nine games.
Genoa said in a statement on Saturday: "Genoa CFC announces that Patrick Vieira is no longer the coach of the First Team.
"The club wishes to thank the coach and his staff for the seriousness and professionalism demonstrated throughout their work and extends its best wishes for the continuation of their professional careers."
Roberto Murgita will guide the first team on a temporary basis ahead of Monday's trip to Sassuolo, and he will be assisted by Domenico Criscito.
