Patson Daka header earns Zambia late point against Mali | OneFootball

Patson Daka's stoppage-time header earned his country a point against Mali at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.

After yesterday's AFCON opener, the second game of the tournament took a while to get going after a cagey start to the game.

The biggest incident of the first 45 minutes when VAR intervened to have the referee take another look at Mathews Banda's late tackle on Nene Dorgeles. After a long look, a penalty was awarded with El Bilal Touré stepping up to take it.

The forward's spot-kick was low and to the right but not good enough to beat goalkeeper Willard Mwanza who got down well.

Goals finally arrived in the 61st minute after Zambia failed to deal with a corner. Lassine Sinayoko was in the right place at the far post to fire his effort into the roof of the net and make it 1-0.

It looked like Mali would earn an important three points early on but there was a late twist when Banda's superb cross from the right was met by the head of the Leicester City man to secure a crucial draw.
