Pau Cubarsi opens up on life away from football at Barcelona | OneFootball

Although it is very difficult to say that he is a teenager with the way that he plays week in, week out, Pau Cubarsi is still only 19 years old. However, he has shown great maturity and reliability to become a key part of two of the most competitive teams in world football, namely FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

Since making his debut with the Blaugrana first team in a Copa del Rey match against Unionistas de Salamanca in 2024, the youngster has gone on to establish himself as a fixed starter in the Catalan team’s backline.

Despite his youth, he has already won two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups, and one Copa del Rey with Barcelona. Meanwhile, he also won the gold medal at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024 and the World Cup 2026 with the Spanish national team.

Despite reaching these heights, there are some aspects of his life that are easily relatable for most youths of his age. As SPORT has reported, he mentioned how he continues his studies – he is pursuing a degree in Business Administration and Management – while playing at the highest level in an interview with RAC1. The young defender opened up on his daily routine:

“I love sleeping. I sleep for nine hours, train in the morning, and from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. I go to class, except when there is a Champions League match.”

Cubarsi also aired his view on the usage of social media in this interview:

“I don’t pay much attention to social media. In the football world, everyone likes to share their opinion about what they see, how you play, what you do or don’t do. I don’t think you should pay too much attention to that.”

The defender also talked about his mobile phone usage:

“For me, the phone is just something to pass the time, watching whatever you like.”

While recognizing the importance of a good diet, the center-back also revealed how he treats himself after a good performance:

“I always prepare my own diet, and I try to eat a varied diet… After every match, I try to treat myself and have a burger if I’ve played well.”

With this interview, Pau Cubarsi has given his fans a glimpse of his life that is not usually visible. These fans would like him even more as they see that despite being one of the very top defenders in Europe, he still leads a life like most other people of his age. Hopefully, he will continue to work hard with his characteristic humility to become a legend of Barcelona after already having achieved so much this early in his career.
