Pau have parted company with head coach Nicolas Usaï after Friday’s 2-2 draw with Grenoble left them still seeking a first win of 2026. The club said in a statement that the split was by mutual agreement and that Thierry Debès will take interim charge.

Pau started the season brightly, but their last victory came in early December away to Montpellier. They have taken two points from their past four Ligue 2 matches, and are now in mid-table.

Usaï, 51, arrived for the 2023-2024 campaign and has overseen 99 matches. His record stands at 34 wins, 31 draws and 34 defeats, departing one short of a century.

During his tenure, Pau finished 10th and 13th, maintaining a mid-table presence.

The decision was made the day after the Grenoble stalemate.
