Paul Parker has been talking ahead of the Newcastle United v Manchester United match.

The two teams meeting in a 4.30pm kick-off on Sunday at St James’ Park.

Not the brightest, Paul Parker previously came to our notice back in November 2023.

The former Man U player commenting on rumours back then of Joachim Andersen potentially joining Newcastle United, the defender at the time playing for Crystal Palace.

Paul Parker declaring in November 2023; “Why on earth would Joachim Andersen want to live in Newcastle? He [Joachim Andersen] lives in a beautiful area in London, so it wouldn’t make any sense to me. Crystal Palace is a huge club located in a lovely area in England. It would surprise me if he chooses to go to Newcastle.”

When doing his best Gabby Agbonlahor impression back then, Paul Parker didn’t explain exactly why during his playing career, he left beautiful London to live in Manchester, leaving QPR for Man U…

Anyway, this brilliant pundit has now given his carefully researched expert analysis ahead of Sunday…

Paul Parker talking to My Betting Sites ahead of Newcastle United v Manchester United:

“Newcastle United will be the favourites against Manchester United.

“I don’t think Manchester United can take control of the game against Newcastle United.

“Newcastle is on a massive high and this will be their first home game since the League Cup final, so it will be completely sold out.

“It is going to be difficult [for Man U].

“It is a big game and a high intensity game, so it will be important to have the right personnel with players who want to run. Newcastle’s midfield is working so hard and they go forward very quickly.

“Newcastle will be the favourites and they are really enjoying themselves right now.”

A few things stand out here…

If Paul Parker had bothered to check it out, Newcastle United have of course played at home since the Wembley win, United defeating Brentford 2-1.

I like his revelation that St James’ Park will be sold out. Since the boycott by so many Newcastle United fans ended with the departure of Mike Ashley on 7 October 2021, every single match at St James’ Park has been sold out for Newcastle fans.

Paul Parker with the revelation that Newcastle United will be favourites against Man U. This is obviously why Parker is in such demand as a pundit. Fifth place Newcastle playing at home and 15 points ahead of 13th place Man U, who would have thought United would be favourites against the visitors???
