Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been offered to Turkish club Bursaspor, with positive discussions taking place over a possible agreement.

Tipsbladet, citing Turkish outlet Fotomac, reports that Pogba’s representatives have been in dialogue with the promotion-chasing second-tier side.

Pogba’s brief spell with Monaco

Pogba joined Monaco last summer as he attempted to get his career moving again, but his time with the Ligue 1 club proved short-lived.

The midfielder made six appearances and accumulated only 115 minutes of playing time during his stay.

Monaco and Pogba terminated their contract in August, leaving the former United man searching for his next club.

Bursaspor talks gather momentum

Fotomac’s information is that Pogba was offered to Bursaspor and that this subsequently led to constructive dialogue between the club and his representatives.

Bursaspor have endured several difficult seasons and dropped as low as Turkey’s fourth tier. However, two consecutive promotions have carried them back into the second division, where they are competing near the top with another promotion in their sights.

The club already have former Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho in their squad. They also play at a stadium capable of holding 43,000 supporters and won the Turkish title 16 years ago.

Paul Pogba’s dramatic career trajectory

Pogba’s profile makes the possibility of a move to the Turkish second tier particularly eye-catching. The World Cup winner was previously a leading name at both United and Juventus.

His career was then interrupted by a doping suspension which kept him out of competitive action for an extended period.

The move to Monaco offered Pogba a route back into club football, but his lack of minutes prevented him from establishing any momentum. Bursaspor would represent a very different stage from those he occupied during the peak years of his career.

No agreement has yet been announced, but the positive dialogue means Bursaspor have emerged as a concrete option for Pogba as he considers his next step.
