Paul Pogba has not made the trip to Spain for AS Monaco’s UEFA Champions League tie against Real Madrid

The Frenchman has not played for over a month due to a calf injury. He was not expected to be included in the squad to face Real Madrid on Tuesday and so it has transpired. The Principality club travelled to the Spanish capital on Monday morning ahead of a training session at the Bernabéu at 18:00 local time.

Pogba is one of several absentees. The likes of Lukas Hradecky, Christian Mawissa, Mohammed Salisu, and Takumi Minamino are all also out, whilst Lamine Camara and Krépin Diatta are not back from AFCON in time to take part in the encounter. Stanis Idumbo, who missed Friday’s defeat to FC Lorient, returns following illness.

Monaco have nine points in the Champions League after six matchdays. It leaves Sébastien Pocognoli’s side in search of points going into the final two matchdays.
