Paul Pogba’s (32) return to the pitch is heavily anticipated, however, it will not come between now and the next international break, says AS Monaco manager Adi Hutter.

Pogba joined Monaco earlier in the summer, however, having not played a professional game for two years, it has been a long road back to match fitness for the former Juventus and Manchester United defender. When he joined at the end of June, a three-month programme was implemented to bring Pogba back to peak fitness. That put his return date at around the start of October.

Hutter has now provided more details, stating that he “hopes” to see La Pioche after the next international break. The Principality club’s first game after the international break will come against SCO Angers on 18th October.

Ansu Fati, however, is closer to a return. He won’t be involved for Monaco against AJ Auxerre on Saturday, however, he could be in the squad for the trip to face Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League on Thursday. More likely, the Barcelona loanee will make his debut against FC Metz next Sunday, Hutter revealed. “We can’t wait to have him on the pitch,” said the Austrian.
