“When we went in for the warm-up under the Curva it was like the first time, it was special. I felt the fans’ support. Too bad we ruined the party,” he said when asked about the fans’ warm welcome after his announced decision to stay at Roma.

“We have to look at the mistakes made and improve for the next game.”

“Today we were not very cynical in the last meters of the pitch even if we took a lot of shots, albeit all at the end of the match,” he added.

“We didn’t do too badly against Empoli in the first half. Today I feel like I wasn’t very close to the goal. We made many mistakes that made us lose the match. This week we will have to look at all the mistakes we made and prepare for the next match, which will be tougher than today.”

“The last week? These are moments when you have a lot of thoughts and a lot of things go through your mind. This is not an easy decision where you bring a lot of things to the table and consider them all.”

“It’s never easy, I’ve been in Italy for 13 years and I feel at home here. I’ve felt good everywhere I’ve been. I’m happy with what I chose because I feel so good here and I’m very happy with my family, who live like at home. Now we need to focus on the future.”
