According to Globo.com, former rivals Pedrinho and Leven Siano have moved closer ahead of Vasco’s 2027-2029 presidential cycle after facing off in 2023.

Pedrinho’s camp values Leven’s administrative expertise in a scenario where the club will probably undergo another SAF resale. Leven has been floated for a future role within the SAF.

He has held regular talks with board members about a potential sale of the SAF and new investment. Vasco is negotiating to sell the football department to businessman Marcos Lamacchia, who would invest more than R$ 2 billion.

Under the current statute, Leven cannot take a paid SAF post because he is a club councillor. The rules require a five-year wait after leaving the board or council.

A draft reform under debate would remove that wait, allowing immediate moves from club offices to paid SAF jobs. The process has drawn in figures from across the club, and while not everyone agrees, there is acceptance that change is needed for the SAF to function.

Before publication, organisers invited beneméritos, members and councillors to send comments. More than 250 people received the documents, but only two replied.

Other key proposals centre on the SAF. The minimum club stake would fall from 20% to 10%, enabling a sale of up to 90% of shares, and principal associativo roles would be paid.

Privately, Pedrinho has not confirmed a re-election bid. He rates the work done but is weighing family time, and has told confidants he would forgo any salary if re-elected.
