According to Globo.com, Vasco president Pedrinho has confirmed interest in John Yeboah and Diego Carlos, while playing down a move for Brian Rodríguez.
He said they pushed hard for Yeboah but met significant hurdles, and have not opened talks with Rodríguez because his price is high, though they have not given up. Diego Carlos remains on the radar and several targets are mapped.
Yeboah is among the football department's top options, with Vasco making an offer of about 8 million euros to Venezia. Sporting director Admar Lopes rates him highly, though the Ecuadorian is waiting on a chance to stay in Europe.
At centre-back, Diego Carlos has been the main target since the window opened. The Fenerbahçe defender has long been tracked, and the most viable route could be a termination in Türkiye before salary talks.
So far the club have signed two players, Facundo Colidio and Santiago Sosa, and continue to work on other positions.
Pedrinho also addressed the sale of 90% of the new Vasco SAF, a court-led process in Rio ongoing for almost a month, with a minimum R$ 650 million investment over five years. Almirante Participações e Empreendimentos S.A., led by Marcos Lamacchia, is the anchor investor with matching rights.
He said any higher bid could be matched, then the deal would go to the Deliberative Council and a General Assembly vote. He is confident and excited, saying the partnership would leave Vasco without financial problems, deliver a major training centre and boost credibility.
