Speaking on Tuesday, Vasco president Pedrinho confirmed the club have stepped up their pursuit of Ecuador forward John Yeboah, 26, who is contracted to Venezia in Italy.
According to PaponaColina, the forward is a leading target for the football department and director Admar Lopes for the second half of 2026.
The board have submitted an official offer of about eight million euros, roughly R$ 49.6 million. Pedrinho said they had pushed harder for Yeboah with greater rigour, but that competition is strong and a deal of this size is not simple.
Despite the sizeable bid, the process requires patience. Yeboah is waiting to see how the European window develops before making a final decision, while Vasco monitor his situation and seek to secure his release from the Italian club.
The chase fits the brief to bolster the wide areas. Yeboah stands out for mobility, dribbling and shooting, and he led those categories in Italy’s second division last season.
Vasco are working behind the scenes to try to reach a positive outcome in the coming days. The recruitment team aim to hand coach Pedro Emanuel a decisive attacker for the Brasileiro and knockout competitions.
